Nutt Interested in Kansas

Houston Nutt

Now that the regular season is finished in college football, plenty of coaches will start interviewing for jobs at other schools. The most interesting story of the day is that Ole Miss coach Houston Nutt is interested in the Kansas job.The Kansas City Star reported that Nutt is on athletic director Lew Perkins' list and the two even talked about the opening. Nutt has an overall record of 92-56 and has taken the Rebels to back-to-back Cotton Bowl berths. This would be a good hire for the Jayhawks, but Perkins needs to realize that Nutt's team never live up to expectations. The Rebels were a preseson top-ten team and Nutt's Arkansas teams never lived up to their hype. The Jayhawks would be better off if they hired Buffalo's Turner Gill or Stanford's Jim Harbaugh. Gill is reportedly in New York to talk to Gill about the job.
