Miami Dolphins Ricky Williams is having a great start to his season with the Dolphins, but the former Heisman Trophy winner said something yesterday that shows the voting in the Heisman Trophy is so biased. Williams was on The Dan Patrick Show and said quarterback Colt McCoy is his pick right now for the Heisman and Texas receiver Jordan Shipley is his second pick. I understand that the former winners of the trophy only make up a percentage of the voting, but it is hard for me to take this award seriously when Williams ranks Shipley and Mccoy ahead of Tim Tebow and Jimmy Clausen. McCoy has completed a ridiculous 73.4 percent of his passes, but he has only 10 passing touchdowns and six interceptions on the season. Shipley already has 583 yards and five total touchdowns, but that is not better than Clausen's 1,544 passing yards or Tebow's 165.9 rating. I will be the first one to admit when I am wrong, but Williams needs to put his school pride to the side for a second and actually try to make an educated vote.

Are you a total moron... Colt is the number one winning QB in college history and he has over 29 passing TD's compared to Tebow's 14??? Where the heck are you getting your stats from? If McCoy finishes his career with over 70% completion that will be another milestone. Check your stats and facts before posting.
Hey Einstein. Check the date of the posting - Oct. 17 is the date of the post, those stats were correct at that time. McCoy is having a good year and had a great career, but it is not a career award. If it was a career award, David Greene would have won the award. McCoy deserves to be a finalist, but I would vote Mark Ingram, Toby Gerhart and C.J. Spiller over McCoy. Thanks for reading though.
Check the date... Touche:-). Yeah Mark Ingram is having a great year and deserves to be up there. I like Tebow but this year McCoy is ahead of him in every category except for rushing. Should be an interesting final. And yes I do agree that the Heisman has become a joke for many of the reasons you have listed. Cheers....
