Power Rankings: Top 5 College Football Games of the Weekend

penn-state-cheerleaders-3

1)   Oklahoma @ Kansas: The only game featuring two ranked teams headlines a weak slate of games. Kansas has the advantage in the passing game with QB Todd Reesing and WR’s Kerry Meier and Dezmon Briscoe. Oklahoma is banged up in the trenches. Demarco Murray has been the lone bright spot for the Sooners offensively, but the defense has been stout for OU. Our pick: Kansas close.

2)   Penn State @ Michigan: This one should at least be exciting with both team’s spread offenses capable of big plays at any time. Penn State is more experienced. Michigan may be a little more talented. Nittany Lions RB Evan Royster could be the difference. Our pick: Penn State by a touchdown

3)   Tennessee @ Alabama: We may have this one a little high, as the Tide has the distinct advantage in talent and depth. The Vols are looking just looking to keep this one close. Mark Ingram can pad his Heisman resume with a big game against Monte Kiffin’s defense. Our pick: Bama by 2 scores

4)   Auburn @ LSU: The game that formally decided that SEC West may settle little more than second tier bowl destinations for each team. Technically The Hat’s team can still win the West by winning out. We give them little chance to do that. Nonetheless, Auburn’s a beaten up team with little to challenge LSU’s talent. Our pick: LSU by 10

5)   Arkansas @ Ole Miss: Despite not quite meeting preseason expectation, Ole Miss is still having a pretty good year. The Rebels are in the midst of their best start since 2003. The Hogs have to get up for their 6th week in a row. Arkansas’s last 6 opponents: Georgia, Alabama, Teas A&M, Auburn, Florida, and Ole Miss. Our pick: Ole Miss close
