1)  Alabama vs. Virginia Tech: Big on post-season implications. Short on watchability. This clash of titans will probably bore you out of your mind. Va. Tech is the most boring quality program in the nation. Alabama’s only about a step or two ahead of the wing-t as far as offensive innovation’s concerned. It will be interesting to see how Bama’s OL performs after losing two first day picks. Seeing  Tide QB Greg McElroy’s performance is an imperative for SEC apologists. Pick: Bama in a walk
2)  Georgia at Oklahoma State: This is a bragging rights game for both the Big 12 and SEC. Georgia QB Joe Cox is going to be better than people think. We’ll have to see how UGA’s newly healthy defense performs against one of the most dynamic offensive attacks in the game. Pokes QB Zac Robinson can insert himself into Heisman discussion with a big game here. Pick: Georgia by at least a touchdown
3)  Oregon at Boise State: The anti-Bama/Va. Tech. This may be the most visually enjoyable game of the year as two of the most dynamic offensive systems in the nation go head-to-head on the blue turf. Worth staying up for on the east coast if only to get a peak at Ducks RB LaGarrette Blount and Chip Kelly’s shotgun-wishbone offense. Pick: Flip a coin. We’ll take Oregon
4)  South Carolina at NC State: These two teams are the antithesis of one another. S. Carolina has everything but a QB and hurts themselves with their lack of discipline. NC State has the best QB in the ACC in Russell Wilson and can play with more talented teams due to the discipline that former marine Tom O’Brien brings as a head coach. The ACC really wants this win over an SEC school for conference credibility. Pick: NC State by double digits.
5)  BYU at Oklahoma(in Dallas): Want a seat at the big boy table Mountain West? Win games like this. We have a hard time seeing BYU doing much against the Sooners with 4 new starters on the offensive line. OU DT Gerald McCoy is going to have to have his mail forwarded to the Cougar backfield with the amount of time that he’ll spend there Saturday.
