5) West Virginia at Auburn: We’ll find out which team is for real on Saturday. WVU’s very quietly looked fantastic this season with Jarrett Brown quickly making people in Morgantown forget Pat White. Auburn’s dropped over 500 yards of offense on each of its first two opponents with 2 RB’s going over 100 yards rushing in each game. Over/ Under 900 yards of offense combined in this one. Set you DVR. Our Pick: Auburn in a close one
4) Tennessee at Florida: If the weather’s nice, Florida might win this one by 50. If it’s not, they may only win by 40. Lane Kiffin slapped a hungry pitbull in the face with a steak in the off-season. He’ll have to pay the piper this week. The Gators may be the best team in college football history. Our Pick: Gators by 40+
3) Georgia Tech at Miami: The Canes are looking to prove that their win over FSU was no fluke. Georgia tech wants to show the world that they deserve a seat at the adult table. This one will be an offensive showcase. Heisman voters will have to consider Jacory Harris as a legitimate contender with another huge performance in a nationally televised game. Our Pick: Miami in a barnburner
2) Texas Tech at Texas: Not as big as last year, but still one of the few opportunities for the Horns to lose a game this year. Texas has to be looking for revenge after this game and moronic Coach’s Poll voters robbed them of a spot in the BCS title game. Expect Colt McCoy to go off. Our pick: Texas by 3 td’s
1) Nebraska at Virginia Tech: If the Cornhuskers are for real, we’ll know after this game. Don’t actually watch this game, because the two offenses are dreadful and the two defenses stout. Our Pick: Virginia Tech by 10
Honorable Mention:
- Boise State at Fresno State: If the Broncos are going to lose this year, it’s probably going to be here.
- Cincinnati at Oregon State: The Bearcats look strong so far this season. Brian Kelly v. Mike Riley will be a chess match. If you haven’t already, take this opportunity to see Cincy QB Tony Pike.
- Utah at Oregon: If the Ducks lose this one the season may get away from them. If the Utes want another look at the BCS they have to keep winning these games.
