College Football: Weekend Overreactions

- Georgia’s got friggin’ problems. Yes, Joe Cox had the flu. Sure, it doesn’t help that Caleb King was out with the hamstring issue. Of little importance. Gerogia’s vaunted OL couldn’t create a hole all day. This is an OK State defense that Oklahoma dropped 60 on last year. UGA had 6 linemen with a year of starting experience and outweighed the Pokes DL by around 50 pounds per man. They should have pushed this team all over the field. Luckily for them, an anemic South Carolina team comes to Athens next week.
- The Big 12 is the best conference in football. Just too much depth. Baylor’s the new Oklahoma State. Oklahoma State’s the new Nebraska. Nebraska’s the new Kansas State. The Big 12’s the new SEC.
- Oklahoma’s not out of the BCS title hunt. They don’t play another legit team for a month. Stoops will figure something out. He usually does. Run the table in the Big 12 and they’ll play for the title.
- Notre Dame’s going to be good. Nevada sucks, but not that badly.
- Tennessee needs to keep a level head. They were very, very impressive…against the worst team in FBS football. Beat an SEC power and we’ll talk.
- Virginia Tech and Alabama are the two most boring teams to watch in the nation. Put them together and you get the visual equivalent of waterboarding.
