Last Minute Advice for Your Brackets

- All number one and two seeds will advance to the Sweet 16. A number 15 seed has beaten a number two seed before, but do you see any coach as bad as former Iowa State coach Tim Floyd?
- There will be at least one number three seed that makes the Elite Eight. (Two made it in 2009, two made it in 2008, one made it in 2007, one made it in 2006, one made it in 2005, one made it in 2004 and two made it in 2003. (Think Georgetown or Baylor).
- Don't pick a team just because they did well in their conference tournament. Many people like Notre Dame, but they will go out early like Gerry McNamara's 2006 Syracuse team.
- Don't pick a team just because their coach is going to get fired. The players may want to send their coach out on a winning note, but there is a reason why Georgia Tech's Paul Hewitt and Clemson's Oliver Purnell could both get fired after the season.
- We love Tom Izzo, but this is not your normal Michigan State team. Izzo doesn't even like this team and you should stay away from this team.
- Gary Williams will once again lead Maryland to a first-round victory. This is a very dangerous team that could go far in the tournament.
- Stay away from overrated mid-major teams like Butler, Gonzaga and Northern Iowa. Butler faces a well-coached UTEP team, Gonzaga faces a great defensive team in Florida State and Northern Iowa has played nobody all season and Lon Kruger will lead UNLV to a victory.
- Don't pick teams to win just because they are in your favorite conference. I am talking to SEC fans. Vanderbilt might lose to Murray State, Florida will lose to BYU and our guy Jimmer Fredette, Tennessee has a tough weekend of games and Kentucky could lose to Texas, Wisconsin or West Virginia.
- Don't pick a team just because they beat the other team in another year. Tennessee beat Georgetown last year, but
Craig Monroe and Austin Freeman are playing much better this year.
- Don't be biased. We love Evan Turner, but he won't lead his team to a victory over Georgetown in the Sweet 16.
- One of these teams will win the National Championship: Kansas, Kentucky, Syracuse, Duke, Kansas State, Ohio State or West Virginia. Don't pick anybody else to win it all.
