Omar Minaya is finished. No, seriously, Minaya is so screwed that we would like to make our first entry into the Hard Knox Lexicon as follows:
Minayaed: To be fired from one’s job 3 months from now and already know it.
Minaya accused NY Daily News beat reporter Adam Rubin of reporting factual information about now fired Mets VP of Player Development Tony Bernazard so as to take Bernazard’s job. He called the guy out in a presser announcing Bernazard’s firing. Rubin was in attendance and confonted Minaya about the allegations in front of the same room full of media members. Minaya sort of backtracked, then came right out and made the accusations about Rubin again. The unfortunate part for Minaya is that Mets COO Jeff Wilpon released a statement saying that Minaya’s accusations were not true. Rubin the killed Minaya by politely laying out the facts in the case in an article in today’s Daily News. It may be the best article that I have ever read in my life. This is what a journalist is supposed to be.
