1)  Sam Bradford should not be the number 1 pick in the draft: Let’s make sure that we understand one another. Bradford hasn’t thrown a meaningful pass in more than a year, hasn’t survived a hit since 2008, didn’t play in an offense that lends itself to the NFL game, and wants close to $15 million to sign with a team. How are we the only ones that get this?
2)  Eric Berry is probably not worth a top 5 pick: Many have the Chiefs pegged to pick Berry with the 5th overall pick in the draft. It’s not that Berry’s play won’t merit the pick. The issue is with the compensation that he’d receive. To sign Berry after picking him that high, a team would have to trump the Giants deal with Antrel Rolle, making him the highest paid safety in the game. Could he one day warrant that money? Yes, but it would be a shame to see a team have to cut Berry 3-years into a deal because the money just doesn’t make sense.
3)  Teams are going to really miss on Brian Price: We were able get an up-close look at the former UCLA DT when he played Tennessee the last two years. He was dominant at the nose and at the 3-technique and was unblockable by a group that did a pretty good job of keeping Terrence Cody in check. Currently he’s slotted to go somewhere between 19 and 40. Barring injury he’ll be a stud in the league for a little minute.
4)  C.J. Spiller eminds us a lot more of Reggie Bush than Chris Johnson: Let’s be frank, someone is going to overreach on Spiller due to Johnson’s success with the Titans. Spiller is what he is, a Felix Jones, Reggie Bush change of pace type that probably won’t touch the ball more than 10 times a game. While he may end up being a solid contributor, it seems wasteful to spend a top 15 pick on a part-time player. We’d draft a position of need early and hope to get Dexter McCluster in the 2nd.
5)  More OL and rush ends will go in the 1st than anyone is projecting: You can never have enough playmakers at these two positions. We see Jerry Hughes, Koa Misi, Everson Griffin, Brandon Graham, Sergio Kindle, Derek Morgan, and Jason Pierre-Paul all with a nice shot at getting snatched up in the first 32 picks.
Maurkice Pouncy Mike Iupati, Roger Saffold, and Charles Brown will probably mess up more than a few mock drafts when they sneak into the 1st round.
