Clinton Portis Should Be Mad

We think there is a very good chance that Washington Redskins coach Jim Zorn will get fired after the season. If you look at the Redskins schedule, they will start the season by going 4-2, but will finish with only seven wins. The Redskins have some talent like Clinton Portis, Santana Moss and Albert Haynesworth. The problem is they have Zorn as their coach and Redskins owner Daniel Snyder knows that Bill Cowher, Jon Gruden, Mike Holmgren and Mike Shanahan are all available to be the next head coach of the Redskins.

Why do we think Zorn lacks a few brain cells? He makes stupid decisions like announcing that Ladell Betts is going to get most of the snaps on third downs. Betts is a very solid back, but has only had more than 400 yards in a season once. Clinton Portis has only had one season where he didn't have more than 1,200 yards rushing. I support the two-back system, but you play your best running back on third downs and on goal line situations. LenDale Whitegets most of the touches near the end zone, but Redskins fans need to understand that Betts is no White. We find it annoying when athletes complain when they don't get their way, but the former Miami running back has every reason to be upset with Zorn over this decision.
