The New England Patriots have the best personnel staff in the NFL and they proved it again by trading defensive end Richard Seymour to the Oakland Raiders for a first round pick in the NFL draft. While this move shocks us that the Patriots would trade the five-time Pro Bowl defensive lineman right before the season starts, you can't blame the Patriots for getting a first round pick for a player on the decline. The Raiders gave up too much to get Seymour, but the Raiders defense will be one of the best in the AFC. It will be interesting to see how this trade impacts the defense of the Patriots.
