Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning will have a new contract in 2010, before his deal expires. The interesting part here is that the Colts will soon be a team on the decline and if Manning gets a fat new raise, this team will have no money to spread around to other players. Rookie running back Donald Brown has a bright future, but this team needs more weapons on offense. There might be a point where the Colts can't rely on the injury-prone Bob Sanders anymore, and the team might want to spend money to find their next star safety. Manning is a very unselfish player, but the future of this team's playoff chances relies on what Manning does with this new contract.
